Today being Christmas Eve, in Aussieland at least, I thought I should post a topic for us to share the season's greetings.

So, MERRY CHRISTMAS, to all of you guys. May the going be less tough, may the New Year be sweeter. And - if you're anything like me - may your muse stop being a fickle bitch with a very short attention span. :P

And without any indication of poster identity, either! (Reminder to self: research including additional info in RSS Atom feed)

The calendar has rolled around to December once more, with all the deceptive speed of time. So, I'm marking the countdown with this humble offering:

Hey, Dad and I were singing our rendition of that this weekend!

But the classic moment of the movie, of course....

Savour this year's Christmas everyone. It will be the last one ever. No, not because of 2012; Lobo will have finished the job before then.

Merry fragging Christmas, bastiches!

...Wow. o_o

No, really. Wow.

First, nice Machine Head intro. Second, the guy playing Lobo looks exactly like a friend of mine.

What are you talking about? It's Boxing Day to.... oh yeah, the time zones....

Hope you're having a better Christmas than my mum, she's had to go to the hospital. :(

Sorry to hear that. My grandma happens to be in the hospital, too. :( Guess it's always something...

EDIT: On a much more cheerful note, chou-roninx brings us a very Martian Christmas.

Happy Boxing Day! :rbg: The perfect time to use up all those gift vouchers from nana and grandad. Mum looks like she'll be fine, but her gall bladder has to be surgically removed now. How's your granny, Corey?

Haven't heard any further updates since yesterday, though that's probably a good thing under the circumstances. My parents are planning to go visit her tomorrow, should know more then.

I need a new necklace to hold the number of pieces of jewelry that I now have. Two crucifixes, a flintlock pistol, and a ring that my grandfather gave me (which no longer fits my now-skinnier fingers).

Also got a Samsung Galaxy S2, some very awesome shirts, and I bought myself a copy of Skyrim. Skyrim being by far and away one of the most amazing games I've ever played, especially for the immersion factor, if not the believability (in some cases; you can be archmage after like a week enrolled in the Mage College of Winterhold). Literally the only thing I find myself disliking about this game is the frequency with which dragons appear. I can fight them all off fairly easily, being that I've got my Daedric armour and conjuration perks and all, but the fact that the dragons nearly always spawn in towns I've travelled to and kill off NPCs who are potential quest givers is extremely annoying.

Although the NPCs bring it upon themselves by rushing out to kill the dragon with a dagger.

My grandma also proved she was awesome by knitting me an Abed Nadir doll in a pirate outfit.

Lucky bastard. :o All I got this year were clothes and a couple of gift vouchers. Not that I'm complaining, I really needed the clothes.

Since we now seem to be comparing gifts :P ...

For Christmas I received several nice cards, a couple CDs (the most recent Anthrax and Dream Theater albums), a couple of used games (the most noteworthy of which being the original Deus Ex), and truly joyful time spent with family.

Also received a used copy of Battlefield 3, but wasn't impressed with it, so I went out tonight and traded it in for a copy of Modern Warfare 3. 8-)

Oh, and I can't let this go unsaid:

BF3's campaign is utter garbage, but the multiplayer is way beyond MW3 in so many ways. Meanwhile, I've already discovered a glitch in Skyrim that'll let me smith and enchant my armour and weapons so that I'm utterly and stupidly overpowered.

Working on a Sauron armour set right now with a gold ring that gives + 54 million health and a similar level of killing power. That'll just be for laughs, though, going for slightly less retarded (but still good, mind you) stats for my Abhorsen gear.

EDIT: Pimptastic, eh? Well, I'll just need a cane to look like the pimp son of Hugh Laurie and Burt Reynolds, then.

Mum had to have her gall bladder removed, but she's well and back at home now. At least we have some good fortune at the end of an overall sucktastic year.
