Not as funny as me going to town with a Daedric mace and... well, going to town on people with a Daedric mace. And then one hit killing an Elder dragon with said mace when he decided to interrupt.

Another year, another Christmas (because the Mayans, like the Egyptians before them, didn't know dick).

Hope you've all had a good one!

Merry Christmas everyone! :rbg: Got a towel and fresh underwear this year.

The Maya and the Ancient Egyptians knew plenty. It's just that the Mayan's exemplary calendar system has been slandered by tin-foil wearing nutcases from the '70s who invented the whole "end of the world in 2012" nonsense in the first place. You thought it was stupid. I thought it was stupid. The Mayans themselves thought it was fucking stupid. Yet they have to endure all the mocking alongside said tin-foil wearing nutcases for "being wrong." Give the poor buggers a break.

It was a joke, Jesus. Of course I know both cultures made some amazing achievements and knew a great deal, particularly concerning architecture and astronomy.

And also, human sacrifice. :P

Define " a good one." I'm just glad the day's over.

I'd define it as the opposite of that, apparently. o_o

My parents are seeking a divorce and are yelling at each other on a regular basis. My family is falling apart. It's also the first time we've had no Christmas presents and no tree. So I haven't been a bundle of joy lately.

I hope everyone else has had it better than I. Knowing that would cheer me up some.

Man. I'm really sorry to hear that, that's really rough. :(

Man, it would be a great day to be at the beach today! :rbg: But for now, I'll settle for that barbeque.

Quote:
"On Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Christ with prayer, feasting, and great merriment. But, most of all, we experience it in our hearts. For, more than just a day, Christmas is a state of mind. It is found throughout the year whenever faith overcomes doubt, hope conquers despair, and love triumphs over hate. It is present when men of any creed bring love and understanding to the hearts of their fellow man. The feeling is seen in the wondrous faces of children and in the hopeful eyes of the aged. It overflows the hearts of cheerful givers and the souls."

For once, I'll agree with Reagan. The power of this holiday is unlike any other, it calms, it reconciles (even if briefly), brings joy, and literally has the power to stop wars dead in their tracks. But how about making this feeling last for more than just one day? I know that is a big ask considering what humanity is like, so I'll wish for something achievable. How about for the rest of the year, we keep it up. Keep spreading the love. Spreading the joy. Stop all the pointless fighting and bullshit that's dragged us down since the dawn of time.

At least until after New Years, I wish for the world to keep celebrating Christmas. If not for Jesus (I'm agnostic after all), then for what Christmas symbolises: the power of hope and love to overcome, that the world doesn't have to be a place of perpetual fear and hatred. This is a holiday that I believe transcends the Christian interpretation and has become something greater, more inclusive.
