As most of you are probably aware by now, yesterday my family lost our beloved Golden Retriever, Penny. She lived a very long, happy life, and the joy she brought not only to our house but to virtually every person who met her cannot possibly be measured. To say that she will be sorely missed is woefully inadequate, but it's the only phrase I can think of offhand.

Thank you, Miss Penny, for having so blessed my life.

I've already offered my thoughts on this via Facebook; however, let me say again that, while it truly sucks when pets - family members, really - die, Penny is lucky to have known you. I lost my own Golden Retriever, Georgie, to cancer about two years ago, and it was one of the hardest times of my life. But, knowing that she was happy while she lived, made it just a little bit easier for me.

Thoughts are with you, man.

You are completely right, and the sentiment is much appreciated.

Poor puppy  I think I'll spare everyone the full range of pet demises I've been through (with causes ranging from old age to disease-mixed-with-vet-incompetence), and go with saying that the lives of those closest to us are a blessing; whether pet, friend or family (and of course combinations, including all three). And it's a blessing that benefits both parties, Penny was as blessed by you as you were by her (ie "yeah, what Loki said").

Thoughts, prayers, presence...stuff is with you. ESPECIALLY stuff o_o

I'm not so good with words when it comes to the subject of death. All I can offer are my sincerest condolences. :(
