Well, the posters are actually very cool, at least imo.
Interesting. I see they're going with the Dark Knight Returns-style "short-eared" batcowl; I think that's a first for Batman's big-screen appearances.

Comic-Con trailer. Definitely the most revealing to date.

Opening March 25th, 2016.

A new official synopsis gives an additional bit of insight into the movie's plot.

Quote:
At long last, see Batman and Superman square off against each other in 'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice', an epic superhero showdown which will change both their lives forever.

Clark Kent doesn't trust Gotham's mysterious masked vigilante. Bruce Wayne doesn't trust the alien who nearly destroyed Metropolis. And Lex Luthor, who hates Superman more than anyone, is manipulating both of them for his own twisted ends.

I keep forgetting to post this, but as everyone who's gone to Star Wars probably already knows, the much-speculated "major threat" that will ultimately force Supes and Bats to set aside their differences has been revealed...

...it's Doomsday.

Please. PLEASE tell me this is a joke. This can't be the trailer. Where's Lex Luthor? The REAL Luthor? Because that guy can't be him, he's a totally different character. And Doomsday? Jesus Christ, where do I begin? :? That can't be Doomsday either. He looks like a cave troll with Downs syndrome. Why couldn't they have started off with a more sensible villain first, like Brainiac? Or Darkseid? Or any other villain besides fucking Doomsday?! DC, you know what he's famous for, don't you?! This is a thing you should have saved for a later movie, not for the very start of a franchise!

And now Wonder Woman's in the film? *bangs head on desk* No disrespect, but wouldn't she be better off having her own movie first? Why throw her in like this? Why am I asking, it's so painfully obvious. DC is frantically clutching at straws, trying to catch up with Marvel even though that's an impossible task at this point.

They didn't play that trailer when I saw Star Wars.

What's funny is that apparently this is Doomsday and Bizzaro combined. Because... Doomsday doesn't have heat vision. At least, not the last that I checked.

Wonder Woman has been a big part of the movie's advertising for months. Hell, she was in the previous trailer, which debuted at Comic-Con back in July.

Not exactly, but you're thinking in the right direction. ;)

Went to the movie tonight, and honestly...it was not bad. Was it as good as the Nolan/Bale Batman movies? No, not even close. In fact I don't think it was quite as good as Man of Steel was. It is by no means a masterpiece, but it isn't a complete train wreck, either, and I'd certainly recommend seeing it at least once. The plot is a bit jumbled, particularly toward the end, and I do think they tried to cram in a few too many things (you'll see what I mean if you watch it for yourself), but what they did do, they actually pulled off better than I'd expected.

And I must admit, for the record...that Ben Affleck actually performed passably well as Batman/Bruce Wayne. (I'm truly astonished to have just written that, but there it is.) No, he's no Christian Bale, but he does not single-handedly ruin the movie, as I'd feared he might. Then again, this is also a very different Batman, and one we've never seen before on film: he's been fighting crime in Gotham for twenty years, has lost a Robin to the Joker, and is burned-out, embittered, and growing increasingly brutal. He also doesn't shrink from using lethal force, if not from killing outright. And his parents were both portrayed by Walking Dead actors, which amused me. :P But Jeremy Irons' Alfred does quietly upstage him in several of their scenes, in my opinion.

As for Lex Luthor, well...this is also a totally different take on his character, and to such an extreme degree that it makes it practically impossible to compare him to previous depictions. He's a bit...well, I think the most accurate description of him would be as a hyperactive, mildly autistic, narcissistic egomaniac who's popping caffeine pills between most of his scenes. I wouldn't say I found him annoying, but more dedicated fans certainly might. Mercy Graves also works for him.

Wonder Woman is largely an enigma, but she's intended to be, so that can be forgiven.

I won't deny that in a lot of ways, Dawn of Justice seems less concerned with being its own movie than it does with setting up the larger DC universe...because that would be trying to deny the obvious. And several scenes to that effect are tangential almost to the point of being non sequiturs. With that in mind, the movie's ending is slightly baffling, but...I won't spoil that.

Bottom line: it was entertaining and somewhat better than expected, though not an instant classic by any stretch.
