Man, I haven't listened to Falling Into Infinity in quite a while.

And on a somewhat similar note...

In 1998, then-former Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson released his fourth solo album, The Chemical Wedding. It was immediately recognized as one of the greatest solo records in the history of metal. There were ten reasons for that, and this is one of them.

You see he has tongue cancer? I was always a bigger fan of this song opf his tho:

This song is actually what more introduced to to Iron Maiden even. I caught this video on MTV when it first released, hell, I think even on Headbanger's Ball. I had no idea who he was when I first saw this video, so I've always been pretty partial to it.

That looks quite a bit earlier...yeah, I guess that's off of his second solo album, Balls to Picasso. Not bad, but also not as epic as most of Chemical Wedding, at least in my opinion anyway.

Like I said, first song I ever heard of his, which then led me to Maiden, so bit of a nostalgic piece for me, ya know?

Like Learning to Live is the first Dream Theater song I really remember hearing and is my favorite song of theirs to this day.

Yeah, that's cool, I get that. My favorite Alice in Chains song is probably still Would?, for similar reasons.

Hmm. Since I mentioned it, guess I'd better...

Would?

I guess the song was included on the soundtrack for the movie Singles, which some of the imagery in the video alludes to. More importantly in my view, it was the final track on Dirt, the band's most defining album, and really sums up what both that album and the band themselves were all about, to a large degree.

Yeah, Heaven Beside Me is probably my favorite AiC song, it's the first one I remember, but Again was a close second. Oddly, I first heard the accoustic set from AiC. I've been meaning to get their newest album, but the 2009 one was just... not good.

They're just not the same band anymore, at least not judging by the recent tracks I've heard. That's why I didn't bother going to their show at the Civic Center.

That show I found out about too late to go. I had really hoped with Cantrell at the helm the band's sound would remain largely the same. The new singer is good, but they're just missing the balls that AiC always had.

Well I finally got a hold of Luna Sea's newest album, A Will, and their first new material since 2000's Lunacy...and man, is it ever different. Here's the first track.

Anthem of Light

I liked the album pretty well. It was different, but still sounded like Luna Sea. Actually sounded more like the Luna Sea I loved than Lunacy did.

And here is Nightwish's new single w/ new vocalist Floor Jansen.

Edit:

Just found this was released today!

Love this album so much! The Agonist - Danse Macabre

Okay, this is not one of my personal favorite X songs, and has got to be by far the cheesiest and most ridiculous video they ever made. But I'm posting it anyway, because it's fucking hilarious. Among other things, it features hide as a teleporting, child-kidnapping wizard, Toshi as a limo driver, Pata as a drunk (which he is), and Yoshiki as...well, himself.

Fascinating coincidence o_o I only remembered it 'cause I was playing Rise of Nations with my little sister on Monday, and the Dutch AI was named Beatrix :P It's generally hard to go wrong with FFIX's soundtrack, though. Wonder if they'll ever remake FFIX for PC....

I really enjoy the music from 1-10, 12 and 14. I'd like to see a HD remake of 9. Such a good game... I really should finish it. <_<;
