I know he's a big fan of bands like Dream Theater, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Maiden, etc. He's actually sung on stage with Dream Theater before. Deathstars - Blitzkreig

Yeah I think it was probably Iced Earth that it brought to mind more than anything else. Didn't he also have a cameo appearance on a recent DT album? Embryo by Dir en Grey

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd Really one of the most beautiful and heartfelt songs ever recorded, I think. Roger Waters wrote: So, So you think you can tell, Heaven from Hell, Blue skies from pain. Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade Your heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange A walk-on part in the war For a lead role In a cage?
How I wish, How I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.

Denis Leary's "Asshole", as performed in a more hardcore way by Jim Breuer at the end of Comedy Central's roast of Leary in 2003.
