So China got a new GW2 trailer and I find myself watching it over and over again just because it condenses all the pure awesome that comprises this MMO.

Except I know for a fact at least half the outfits in the Chinese version of the game are censored.

Dishonored is really damned impressive. And in spite of the somewhat mixed reviews I'd read, I'm really enjoying Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate HD so far.

I hope Mirror of Fate HD is better than the 3DS version... I did not care for that. :(

Really? Well I haven't played the 3DS version, but this game is FAR better than I'd expected it to be, and my expectations were not exactly low. I think it's an amazing blend of vintage "Metroidvania"-style platforming and exploration, and Lords of Shadow's strategic, combo-based combat.

Personally, I love it.

To date I've only disliked 3 Castlevania games, the two on N64, because, well, they are amongst the WORST games ever made, and the 3DS game. :( But maybe a larger screen with a decent controller will make the difference.

That's certainly possible. Like I said, I never played the 3DS version, but many of the things I've heard about the 3DS itself have been...less than positive. And I think the trigger/shoulder button arrangement on the 360 controller is certainly very advantageous in this game, and I'm sure the same would hold true of the PS3 controls.

What did you think of Lords of Shadow? I must confess that it took a little while to grow on me, but once I realized what they were really trying to accomplish in terms of breaking down, explaining and re-imagining the entire Castlevania mythos, my appreciation for it grew dramatically.

I enjoyed what I played of it, but I didn't get that far into it. Got distratced by something else coming out.

Don't discount the 3DS, its quite a nice little system that has some really great games on it. The new Fire Emblem game was AMAZING, Shin Megami Tensai IV is quite good, the Etrien Odyssy games on it are good, some quality remakes came out for it, and of course, the new Pokemon games are very good, such a vast improvement over any previous release in the series.

XCOM: Enemy Within is one of the best games I've ever played.

Fuck yeah. And while I don't think console ports are necessarily inferior by definition, XCOM is clearly designed for, and much better suited to, the PC.

That reminds me, I don't think I've ever added you on Steam...

Yeah, that's primarily attributable to the fact that I don't know your Steam ID. :P

(Mine should be pretty easy to guess.)

I've got XCOM nearly a year ago, and it's a damn good game. Unfortunately, it's too good for my shitty rinky dink computer to handle. It tends to lag like hell. Insult to injury is my computer is less than six months old. :x

Since it's been on sale for the past week or two, I went back and gave The Wolf Among Us another try, and am extremely glad that I did. It is every bit as compelling as Telltale's Walking Dead series, even though it strikes a completely different tone. And on that note, I'm a sucker for the kind of '80s-noir, comic book feel it pulls off very effectively.

Another interesting distinction between it and The Walking Dead is that TWAU focuses much more heavily on real detective work and mystery solving than it does on brutally gut-wrenching choices. Which is not to say that there are none of those...

I think Telltale may just be rapidly becoming my favorite game studio.

Well, I'm a few years behind the curve, but I've finally really gotten into Dragon Age: Origins. Which is one of the reasons I've been somewhat scarce lately. :geek:

Well, it's not like they're the best RPGs ever made or anything...just in my opinion :P

Meanwhile, holy friggin' crap. Tales from the Borderlands might be Telltale's best game to date. It's absolutely spectacular. :psycho:

I'm pretty sure I will wholeheartedly disagree with you on that. I've yet to find an RPG to top Final Fantasy IV in my book.

Tales of the Borderlands is one I've been wanting to play. It looks quite good!

If we were talking strictly Final Fantasy games, which at this point are almost a genre unto themselves, I'd agree. As it stands, the Final Fantasy series -- and the overwhelming majority of menu-driven Japanese RPGs, for that matter -- have so little in common with BioWare's style of RPGs that it's really difficult to draw fair comparisons between them. So I guess it really comes down to a matter of personal tastes.

It's truly fantastic. Too bad I have to wait until I've upgraded to the next (or, I guess, current) gen in order to play through the rest of it. :(
