I guess it's not too early to put up a thread for it, is it? No, it's not. Just announced today, by director Bryan Singer: Jubilee's going to be in it. And hopefully as a main character, and not the lame-ass cameos she got in the first two movies. This makes me ecstatic. Maybe even X-static. The confirmed cast at present: Charles Xavier / Professor X: James McAvoy Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto: Michael Fassbender Raven Darkholme / Mystique: Jennifer Lawrence (who apparently is bowing out after Apocalypse )Moira MacTaggert: Rose Byrne Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast: Nicholas Hoult Pietro "Peter" Maximoff / Quicksilver: Evan Peters En Sabah Nur / Apocalypse: Oscar Isaac Scott Summers / Cyclops: Tye Sheridan Jean Grey: Sophie Turner Ororo Munroe / Storm: Alexandra Shipp Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler: Kodi Smit-McPhee Jubilation Lee / Jubilee: Lana Condor Warren Worthington, III / Angel (Archangel): Ben Hardy Elisabeth "Betsy" Braddock / Psylocke: Olivia Munn Alex Summers / Havok: Lucas Till Logan / Weapon X: Hugh Jackman Caliban: Tomas Lemarquis Death: Monique Ganderton William Stryker: Josh Helman Plague: Rochelle Okoye Nope, no Gambit. Unless he's uncredited.

Yeah, can't say that I see much resemblance there...still, I'm not too bothered for two reasons: 1) Jean has never been one of my favorite characters anyway, and 2) it's difficult to imagine her being worse than Halle Berry was as Storm. Bishop's too cool to play by the rules =P
If this is set in the 1980s or even the mid 1990s, though, then the ending of Days of Future past sort of weirds me out given how cheerful it seemed. Though, if this is Apocalypse, I wonder if that means we're going to see Gambit...

I'd say that's more likely than not, seeing as how it's already been confirmed that he's getting his own solo movie in the near future. And yeah, I'm pretty sure Apocalypse will be set sometime in the '80s. First Class was '60s, DoFP was '70s and this will be moving the timeline up to the '80s. And on that note, personally I'm really glad they're going with Jubilee instead of Dazzler. As for the ending of DoFP, I both understood and deeply appreciated why they did it the way they did. They simultaneously gave the "old" cast the best possible send-off, while actually fixing everything that the third movie completely fucked up.

Probably not, but man, I really do not like her on Game of Thrones. I'm not sure if it's her character, or her I don't care for... but my impression is less than stellar.

Well, I can't speak to that, but personally, I wouldn't mind a bit if they did another X-Men movie without Jean, Storm, or Cyke...but then the comic purists would probably launch an armed insurrection or something.

Looks like Psylocke will finally be making her big-screen debut, as well. Also extremely cool. Zanth wrote: CWS wrote: Zanth wrote: Sophie Turner is Jean Grey? Ugh, gag. The kid playing Quicksilver is great, but I've never read a comic with him in it. Jubilee I hate. Channing Tatum as Gambit? Pass. Archangel... don't care. Psylocke I have zero faith in them to do justice. Soooooo yeah....

Psylocke I have zero faith in them to do justice. Soooooo yeah.... Quicksilver was great in X-Factor during Peter David's original run in the early '90s, even if he had the ugliest costume in comic book history. The DoFP version of him was also awesome, but for completely different reasons; his personality was absolutely NOTHING like the comics, where he frankly was an impatient, abrasive asshole much of the time, but still a really interesting character once you understand his reasons for being that way. I'm gonna come clean about something that's been on my mind for a year or two, as far as the X-Men film franchise is concerned. If, by some miraculous act of God or something, I could somehow be granted my fondest personal wish...the thing I would like to see, more than anything else, would be a Wolverine and Jubilee movie. They were the ones who originally pulled me into the comics way back when, and as much as I love Beast and Boomer and Cannonball and Gambit and Havok and Magneto and Multiple Man and Nightcrawler and Rogue and Sabretooth and Strong Guy and Wolfsbane and so many others, I've come to realize that "Wolvie and Jubes" are still my two personal favorite characters. And as a pair, not individually. I have no expectation of this actually happening, of course. But like I said, if I could just have one wish...that would be it.

Zanth wrote: I want a movie version of Rogue that is badass and not a whiny bitch, that's all I really want. That would be nice, too. EDIT: Updated the first post as the movie's IMDB page now lists Ben Hardy as Angel.
