Well, I finally saw the movie, and it was indeed damn good. It avoided the primary mistake of both Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, which stretched themselves in a million directions trying to set up too many other movies and characters before the audience had a chance to give half a crap about the characters they were actually watching, and they fell apart as a result.
By contrast, Wonder Woman focused on doing just one thing -- telling Diana's story -- and doing it right. That's what the Marvel movies have always understood, and have been able to consistently pull off. And now, well...as Zanth was telling me the other day, the DC movies are two for four. So...that's a 50% success rate, which means DC still has a very long way to go to even begin catching up with Marvel.
But, back to this movie...really, everything in it just worked, the music, the choreography, the script, the casting, everything came together perfectly to tell a story that was both epic in scope and inspiring on a basic level. In particular, the two most important roles, those of Diana (Gal Gadot) and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) turned out to have been brilliantly well cast.
People said this movie changed everything for the DCEU, and I think they may very well be right.
