Re: At the present moment...

So some asshole abandoned a little kitten, rather than do the right thing and send it to the SPCA if they didn't want it anymore. :x That kitten ended up in our garage, and it was a mission to get it out. It took three days since the thing was by far the most talented escape artist I've ever met. :...

Happy Independence Day 2019!

I'm late again.

In my defense, I was dog-sitting my aunt's new puppy during the big fireworks show. She actually did great!

Edit: I'd intended to include this topical link to compensate for my own lack of rambling verbosity, but I forgot to. So...better two days late than never, I guess?

Final Fantasy VII Remake

I'm sure everyone is aware by now, but just for posterity, here's the trailer that was revealed at E3.

It does look pretty cool...but there's one aspect of this I can't help but laugh at.

This game started out as an early tech demo...for the PS3.

Re: Godzilla: King of the Monsters

This movie does not disappoint. I spent the past month watching nearly every previous Godzilla movie that's ever been made, starting with the 1954 original and finishing with KotM's 2014 predecessor. And I am so glad that I did, because there are sooo many little callbacks, easter eggs and homages t...

Re: At the present moment...

Wow. As rarely as this topic gets updated, looking back over it is rather sobering.

I realized earlier tonight that the best thing I could ever possibly imagine happening would be to wake up and find out my entire life was just a bad dream. I'm not sure exactly what prompted that thought.

Popular Vote vs. Electoral College

The question of whether the US should abolish our Electoral College system is a topic which has come up a number of times, and with particularly renewed fervor of late since our two most recent Republican presidents have won the Electoral College but lost the popular vote. This is something I am ada...

That sounds like a logical choice for the purpose of introducing the ignorant and uninitiated (like me :P ) to this setting.

Terminator: Dark Fate

In my opinion, the first two Terminator films were truly James Cameron's greatest contribution to cinema. They told a compelling story in an original way, with truly spectacular action sequences and special effects, and pacing that may be unequaled in their genre, and they dealt with extremely dark,...

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home

Counting Peter Parker, there are at least three established victims of the Infinity Snap in this trailer...soooooo... ...the "Infinity Snap" was the disposable shock ploy it always sounded like? Except it really wasn't. It had extremely severe and permanent consequences for the entire MCU, several ...

Second trailer, and this one sheds light on quite a few very interesting details...all of which are major spoilers for Endgame, so take note.

Trump administration: policy vs. personality

I posted this comment earlier tonight in response to the latest article in right-leaning media crowing about the supposed demise of "#NeverTrump". In it, I intended to address the cult-like devotion to Trump that many of his fans display, but I also ended up summarizing a lot of my thoughts on Trump...
