Thor: Ragnarok

Post by CWS »

A few notes:
  • That's Cate Blanchett as Hela, the Goddess of Death (and possibly Thanos's girlfriend).
  • Jane Foster is nowhere to be seen, but that's not surprising in light of the widely known fact that Natalie Portman wants nothing more to do with the Marvel film franchise.
  • We also see Jeff Goldblum as the Collector's brother Grandmaster, because who else would he be.

Well, that movie kicked ass. Was a bit different from what I'd been expecting -- they laid on the comedy quite a bit heavier than I thought they would, especially compared to the two previous Thor movies -- but it's still spectacular.
Thor: Ragnarok (highlight to see)
One thing that did bother me was seeing the Warriors Three all get killed as abruptly and unceremoniously as they did. I can kind of understand why they did it that way; to underscore both how powerful and how merciless Hela is. But still...they were literally only in the movie long enough to die, and Thor never even takes note of his dead friends and loyal comrades. :(
