From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea
by The Cure

This has always been one of my very favorite Cure songs, because not only is it an incredibly cool song by itself (and it is), but I think it's also one of several songs that fully sums up everything The Cure is about.

Huh. It looks like a port, but it might qualify....

Wait. This is the Jukebox thread, right....

Whoever the performer is in the clip you're posting, which in this case was Tarja. So yeah. Although noting that it's a cover version of someone else's song is certainly not a bad idea, particularly if others might not be aware of that fact.

Enduring the Eternal Molestation of Flame

As this should illustrate, Nile has always been one of the most original and unique bands in the entire genre of death metal.

White Slavery
by Type O Negative

This has got to be one of the greatest chorus lines ever written:

Reason: Obligatory Type O green for the lyric quote.

Ghost Love Score
by Nightwish (Floor)

Today being the first time I've actually heard Nightwish with Floor Jansen as lead vocalist (yes, I realize that change happened three or four years ago)....She's quite good, but I think she lacks the richness in Tarja's voice. Of course, exceedingly few people approach Tarja's level; and in any case it's not entirely fair to judge her solely on a song literally written for someone else, is it?

Shudder Before the Beautiful
by Nightwish

I stand by quite good, and the rest of the group's done a good job getting in sync with her.

And I will say, I have a hard time imagining Tarja going low enough for some of Annette's songs; a problem Floor doesn't seem to have.

I think Floor is a better vocalist than Tarja was. Let me find something for you, something that really shows her ability(I saw this live and was ... *ahem* floored).

Also to note, Floor is the first vocalist I've actually seen twice across 5 Nightwish shows.

I have to disagree. Oh Floor's good, no doubt about that, but...well....

Wait. That would likely mean Floor twice, Tarja and Annette once each...so I've gotta be missing someone o_o

I've heard those songs of Tarja's, and I just like Floor better. *shrug* Difference of opinion. :)

It's like they say: If two people agree on everything, one of them is unnecessary. We're both necessary, hurray!

Agreed, lol. I like Tarja alot, just not as much as Floor. And I've always said Tarja was a better singer than Anette, but the show I saw with Anette was a better show. I think by the time I saw Tarja she was already disdainful towards the small shows in the US. She didn't look like she was enjoying herself. That really takes a lot out of a live show when the frontman/woman doesn't look like they are enjoying it. Anette was on her first tour and looked like she was having the time of her life. Floor also brought that enthusiasm to the show, as well as the better vocals, so I've enjoyed those shows more. Well, other than hanging out with the rest of the band at the Tarja show, of course.
