The Old Republic has me, and I don't see it letting go anytime soon.

Just finished Deus Ex: Human Revolution on the hardest difficulty setting without setting off a single alarm in the entire game. 8-)

Finished Oblivion and the two expansion packs. Good game, good game. :) Now what day is it again? :?

To further eat away at what little of a social life I have left, a family friend has repaired one of our computers... with Skyrim installed. 8-)

I've split the discussion on Oblivion/Skyrim/Etc. to its own thread, largely because I seem unable to shut up on the topic and didn't want to overwhelm this thread. :geek:

As you may have guessed, I've been playing Mass Effect 3 for the past couple weeks. With a dash of Starcraft II here and there. :rbg:

Oh man, I really did forget we had this thread for three months in a row o_o Umm...BULLET POINT SUMMARY TIEM

  • Minecraft: Pretty fun, in a "start with nothing and construct a fortification of your own design" way. Unfortunately it gets tedious not long after that phase, as resources tend to go towards replacing tools to maintain the status quo (tools which tend to break while looking for better or specialized stuff). Starts feeling like busy work.
  • Alice: Madness Returns: Annoyingly, the combat is overstated and gets to be too strict to enjoy the game. I think I lost interest about halfway through...which is exceedingly unusual for me. It's too bad; American McGee's Alice had impressive visuals for the time (2000) and this sequel makes good use of the decade of technology that's come since.
  • Archon Classic: ...being a remake of a game I loved when I was around seven years old, I may be biased :-P But it certainly captures the feel of the original while still having modern strategic/tactical elements. The "campaigns" aren't much more than a series of special boards with weak sentences of narrative in between, but other than better narrative/framing I don't know what else I'd expect....
  • All Zombies Must Die!: ...while entertaining for a while, it gets very repetitive about halfway through. Plus, I'm fairly sure the game was made for consoles and blindly ported over to PC; using PC game controllers is utterly broken (up and down are reversed while left and right are not, weird button mappings that can't be changed). Since a part of the purchase decision was so I could play it with my nephew, because it was listed as actually supporting multiplayer...kinda ticks me off.
  • Torchlight: It's like Diablo II, except with many ways to enhance (or screw up) your equipment. Pretty fun, takes longer than Diablo II to start feeling like a chore and like you need to take an extended break.
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution: See post here.
  • Governor of Poker 2: About what you'd expect from a plotline tied to repeated instances of Texas Hold 'Em poker. It was cheap, and works for a more relaxing experience than, say, Human Revolution....
  • Terraria: It's a lot like Minecraft, except 2D...and geared towards finding (stuff to make) better equipment, has fun combat, can pose legitimate challenges, and has much more variety in the things you can create beyond what shape you have your base in. Basically covers the aspects I found lacking in Minecraft.

In the middle of Bioshock right now, may have to post again once I finish the game...sure hope I remember the thread by then :?

As for me, I'm trying to finish up the last few DLC missions in Borderlands before the second game comes out on Tuesday. 8-)

Speaking of Borderlands 2...

Greenmangaming.com have the game on sale for $49.99, and TODAY ONLY have an additional 25% discount available with this coupon code: GMG25-1BW0K-K1A3G

Cost me $37.50 USD.

Steam's downloading it right now. I'm not sure if the code's region specific or not. Worth a shot, anyway.

Dammit. I haven't even finished Borderlands 2 yet, and Resident Evil 6 is sooooooooooo much better than I was expecting it to be. And it's not that I had low expectations, but I wasn't expecting this.

More on that later.

Really, I didn't know we were even listed there!

Well, welcome, again, and feel free to introduce yourself in the Roll Call thread if you feel so inclined.

I finally got myself an XBox 360 of my own this summer. So far, all I'm playing on it is TES: Oblivion, and Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale. I picked up Assassin's Creed upon recommendation from others who knew I liked the TES series, but I found I hated it so much that I gave it away. I'm waiting on Skyrim until they're done making official content (or if there will be a GOTY edition, whichever happens first), and will probably get Civilization: Revolutions next. I have a Live account, no idea what my call-sign is or whatever it's called.

Yep, that's me being dragged in, slowly catching up with the kids in technology.

Which Assassin's Creed did you get? By mosta ll accounts, the first one is pretty terrible. I hated it too.

Add me; my "gamertag" is, very predictably, Cylor.

Of course, you probably already knew that from my sig banner... o_o

@Zanth It was the first one. My biggest complaint is that the game seemed more focused on complicated controls than actual gameplay or story, which, you know, is kinda fundamental when it comes to RPGs.

@CWS At the very least it makes it easier for me, since I barely grasp how the whole Live thing works. (No, that is not an invitation for an explanation or tutorial.)

Well, the Assassin's Creed series is not an RPG series in the slightest... I just flet the first one lacked any real variety in what you did. They go thru all this complecated control scheme, and with what I could stomach, I only used maybe 1/4 of it before I was bored out my mind. That aside, I am quite enjoying the PS Vita one, it at least offers more variety in your tasks and utilizes the different control elements.

But I've been sucked into Persona 4: Golden right now. I am now wishing I had played these games back on the PS1 and PS2. So good!
